Ynez de Zilón absolvierte ein Studium an der Hochschule für Bildende Künste Dresden. Ihre Schwerpunkte waren Kontextübergreifendes künstlerisches Arbeiten bei Ulrike Grossarth (mit Bezügen zu Tanz und Körperarbeit, sozialen und politischen Fragestellungen) und Bildhauerei bei Eberhard Bosslet. Für einen Zeitraum von ca. 10 Jahren musste ihre künstlerische Arbeit aufgrund der umfassenden Sorgearbeit als alleinerziehende Mutter ruhen. Währenddessen war sie unter anderem in der kulturellen Bildung und in der Betreuung psychisch kranker Menschen tätig. Ausgestattet mit Wissen und Erfahrung aus pädagogischen und psychologischen Kontexten nahm sie 2017 ihre künstlerische Tätigkeit wieder auf. Parallel dazu studierte sie an der FU Hagen Philosophie im Masterstudiengang. Heute ist sie in den Bereichen Installation, Soundart, Performance und Graphik tätig. Ihr Lebensmittelpunkt ist Berlin.

Eine Grundkonstante ihrer Arbeit ist die Beschäftigung mit physikalischen Wirkmechanismen wie Gravitation, Schall oder Spannung. Seit 2021 richtet sich ihre künstlerische Forschung insbesondere auf Phänomene der Quantenfeldtheorie und deren philosophische Implikationen. Künstlerischer Schwerpunkt ihrer vorrangig explorativen Arbeiten sind Interaktionsformen von Licht und Materie. Ein anderer Teil ihrer Arbeit beschäftigt sich mit existentiellen Erfahrungen wie Flucht, sexueller Missbrauch und kollektive Traumatisierung.
